Ariane Goldman, founder of HATCH and mother of two, wanted to create a line of women's clothing that would be chic and elevate any pregnant woman. How and what we eat makes a huge impact on our planet, and Moonshot Snacks is making the world a better place, one snack at a time. Moonshot's purpose is to create delicious, carbon neutral snacks that are good for you and the planet. When Julia Collins, the founder of Moonshot snacks, was pregnant she kept asking herself how she could make the world a better place for her tiny human. Sporting the phrase “softest mats ever” on the homepage of their website, Toki Mats certainly delivered on this promise! Their collection of play mats are waterproof, non-toxic, foldable, and definitely so soft. Eli, the company’s founder, came up with the idea of Toki Mats when she was on maternity leave with her second baby. As Toki Mats tells it, “Sitting in her living room on her couch, looking out at all of the small-shop baby decorations and toys she collected while pregnant, she realized there was no place to get down on the floor and safely play with her newborn and toddler.” The dream for Toki Mats was born and so many families are thankful for it!

Girlfriend Collective

girlfriend collective | mother owned brands you should know about

When you think of eco-friendly fashion, the first thing that comes to mind is probably some kind of tunic or an all neutral pallet. But in an interview with Forbes magazine, Ellie Dinh revealed how she developed her own line for recycled and sustainable materials using polyester from old sneakers! Girlfriend Collective creates modern athleisure wear rooted in sustainability. This means not only do we now have more environmentally friendly options available but also better quality clothes at lower prices (which will save us money!). And this all happened because someone had enough faith in herself AND compassion towards others by believing they could be successful while still making a difference through kindness both inside AND outside.

Nude Barr

Nude Barr | Mother Owned Businesses You should know about

For the longest time, the color “nude” in the fashion world remained a light, pinky, flesh tones color. Having faced discrimination because of her own dark skin in the professional dance world, Erin Carpenter knew that this needed to change. Nude Barr was born to fill the void in the market, and reset the standard for “nude.” Now you can find 12 diversely inclusive tones for tights, bralettes, undies, and more at Nude Barr.

As we come to the end of this post, I can’t help but feel inspired by all of these amazing women. They are each doing their part in making our world a little bit better and helping us move towards a more sustainable future.
