Fun and Easy Ways to Celebrate Fall with Your Kids
The leaves are changing color, the weather is getting cooler, and fall is in the air! This is one of our favorite times of year. Not only because of the beautiful fall foliage, but also because there are so many fun things to do with your kids. In this blog post, we will share our favorite easy ways to celebrate fall with your little ones. From simple crafts to delicious recipes, we have you covered!
So grab your pumpkin spice latte and let’s get started!
When Fall Comes to the Kitchen
One of our favorite fall activities is making homemade applesauce. It’s so easy to do and the kids love helping out. Plus, it tastes delicious! Simply wash and chop up some apples (we like to use a mix of different kinds), add a little water and sugar, and let them cook down in a pot on the stove. Once they’re nice and soft, mash them up with a potato masher or an immersion blender. That’s it! You can enjoy your homemade applesauce as is or use it in one of our fall recipes below.
- Apple Crumb Muffins
- Cinnamon Spice Applesauce Bread
- Applesauce Pork Chops
- Gluten Free Applesauce Baby Pancakes
Another fun fall activity is making pumpkin seeds. This is a great way to use up those pumpkins you carved for Halloween! Simply scoop out the seeds, rinse them off, and spread them on a baking sheet. Then drizzle with olive oil and your favorite seasonings (we like salt, pepper, and garlic powder) and bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Yum!

Falling for these Crafts
If you’re looking for a fall craft to do with your kids, try making these easy-leaf suncatchers. All you need is some tissue paper, construction paper, clear contact paper, scissors, and glue. Cut out different shapes of leaves from the tissue paper (you can even use fall-themed cookie cutters if you have them), and then glue them to the paper. Once your suncatchers are dry, hang them in a sunny spot and enjoy the fall colors!

Nothing like Autumn Outdoors
Lastly, welcoming fall wouldn't be complete without getting outside! Go on a nature walk and see how many different types of leaves you can find. Or head to the pumpkin patch and pick out your favorite pumpkins. And don't forget to jump in a huge pile of leaves!
Both Instagram and TikTok are both great search engine tools to find outdoor Fall Activities in your area! You're likely to find a few ideas that you might not find with a generic Google Search, as well as see some videos/pictures to get an idea of if the experience is a good fit for your family. On TikTok, try searching "fall activities (your state or city)" -- you might be surprised at how many great results pop up!
